TRANSITIONS--Announcement from Dr. Stockwell

Saying yes to change involves a certain amount of risk--of leaving what is familiar and comfortable. But then, stepping into the unknown is what creates the space for something new, and fresh, and vibrant.

In order to have the rewards of new experiences, of harvesting more of life's bountiful offerings, I embrace the exhilaration (sometimes fear) of walking where I have never walked before. I have made this choice many times and it has become a way of life. It is how I am with patients, in my own research of the inner world, and in my personal life. Rather than living within the structure I have previously set up, growth and expansion sometimes dictate a change in context--in external structure. You know what I mean because I have invited and encouraged many of you to change the structure of your own lives in the name of growth and personal healing--and you have seen the rewards!

It is with this in mind that I want to share with you the news that I am changing the structure of my medical practice. As of June 15th, Holistic Medicine in Middleton will be closing. I will be moving with my family to Liberal, Kansas to open a medical office there.

Change in one person's life affects many others--you know that from your own lives. And you may be wondering how this change in my life will affect you. For those of you that come to me for holistic medical consultations there will be very little change. You will still use your primary care doctor as currently and when you want to expand your options or work more deeply and holistically, instead of meeting in person we'll meet over the phone. As you may have realized the vast majority of what I do in person can be accomplished over the phone. In fact, I have worked in this way for years with my patients who live too far to travel. For those of you who have come to Middleton for primary care services as well as holistic medical consultations, I suggest you add someone local to your healing team. At the bottom of this email you will find a list of area practitioners who are at least open to holistic medicine, and some are quite competent. I am here for you and wish to make this transition as easy and seamless as possible, so if you would like an individualized recommendation to the local doctor who would be the best fit for your needs, please call me at the office.

In addition, I have extended my hours in Middleton, including evenings and some weekends, so that I can see each one of you that have healing needs you would like to address with me before my move.

Through Empowerment Medicine, I will continue to offer educational products and in-person trainings in Intuition and Holistic Healing. We will continue to send out newsletters and announcements via email. If you wish to be added to the mailing list, click here. With the move, I will be able to devote more time and attention to expanding the offerings available via Empowerment Medicine, and I will be working on the book so many of you have been asking for.

I imagine that you are feeling quite surprised, maybe even shaken, by this announcement. That is understandable.

It is my sincere hope that you will move towards more self-reliance. I know each of you has a vast resource of inner wisdom and can identify what is best for you. Accessing your inner wisdom only requires practice. Many of you are already very competent in this, and I just hear from you occasionally, via phone or email, because you have already learned the tools you need to address 90% of your family's health needs. And, I am pleased to continue to be available to you when the occasional issue arises and you want my input.

For those of you developing your self-reliance, I have already produced CDs on accessing Inner Wisdom, Relaxation, Whole Foods Eating, and Self Help with Homeopathy. These CDs provide instruction in the fundamental tools to diminish or alleviate most health problems and lay the foundation for curing many, many conditions.   They are a wonderful resource and I hope you take advantage of them as your needs arise.

Every change in life is an invitation to Being Empowered. I am glad to guide you towards greater Empowerment through this change, as well as others in the future.
